Blog Post #8: First Quarter in Art 1
The first quarter of art was interesting. I learned some new things and went over things I already knew. Many of the projects were fantastic. The free drawing in the sketchbooks were helpful. I now see art in many different ways. Due to the use of elements of art and principles of design, and the many forms of other art styles. This has increased my art skill level.

Post # 7: Elements and Principles Book
In the process of making this booklet I learned how to make a art booklet. I though making the different lines and shapes was enjoyable. I also thought writing the poem was enjoyable. The part I found challenging was making the poem. I had to include all of the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. If I made another book I would add more color the the booklet.

Blog Post #6: Handmade Book
I found this handmade book interesting because it is similar to what we are doing in class. I also found it interesting because its looks as if the texture of the cover is leather. I would say this handmade book is well crafted because there are stings connecting the pages, instead if them being glued together. Another reason is because the covering of the booklet is a different texture and a different color than the pages inside of the booklet.

Blog Post #5: Abstract Drawing
This artwork clearly shows color. There is hue, intensity, and value of the color red in this piece. There is a small bit of emphasis in this drawing due to it having one view point. It too shows harmony because many can look at this drawing; some will see the same meaning, others will see a different meaning. I think this drawing has something to do with anger or madness. I say this because it looks as if the drawing shows a strong force splash like movement. It too shows red color in which somehow means a warm or even hot color. Anger is a very heated emotion.

Blog Post #3- Bloom's Taxonomy For Art
Knowledge- Vince Van Gogh wrote a letter to his brother, Theo, June 2, 1889. This letter influenced him to create the painting The Starry Night. A passage from the letter:" This morning I saw my country from my window a long time before sunrise, with nothing but the morning star(?), which looked very big." The morning star. is actually Venus, the planet. This morning star is also located a little to the left of the center of the painting.Vince Van Gogh: Starry Night, June 1889
Understanding- The night sky and effects of light at night define the subject and/or theme
Application- Questions I would ask are:"Would you make any changes to this famous art piece?; Did you ever tell your brother about this masterpiece?; What were the swirls in the top-middle of the painting?"
Analysis-I think the artist is trying to say is that there are more shades, shapes, forms, etc. etc. at night then day.
Synthesis-I would render the subject as night, stars, and as feelings. I say night became the painting is drawn with a night sky. I say stars because it shows out in the night sky. I say feeling because of the morning star he put in his picture.
Evaluation- My opinion of the painting is that it is about the things he saw that night. When he look out at his town and saw the morning star.
Blog Post # 2- Race and Gender Criticism
This reading is about the type gender and race that made/created art(s). In this reading mostly white males created art. "In 1997, a show of artists at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, included only three white women, one woman of color, and no men of color. Out of a total of seventy-one, these were the only white female, colored female, and colored men artists. This shows that there were not a lot of female or colored artists.
Blog Post #1- My First Art Experience
When I was a little kid around the age of 4, I had my first art experience. I was in my room playing with my toys, when i spotted my Lego box. As a kid when I seen things, I had the urge to want them. So I went toward the Lego box and grabbed it. I then poured them out and started constructing something. When I was done, it look somewhat like a castle, but wouldn't stand up right. As I look back on that, that was my first experience of art.
